Meg's Poem
Meg's Poem
Bear
I took my husband's name
It is a complicated marriage
In his mind we have been married for years
In mine too - except I wanted more
I wanted to hear him say I do
I wanted to wear a white dress
and dance with him
finally that was going to happen
We planned it -
even he came to want the 'fuss'
Then he died
We had a small ceremony
at the end - but he couldn't say I do
And then he was gone.
I took my husband's name -
it's a complicated marriage
