Dearest Kim,

My very deepest sympathy on the loss of your beloved husband. We, too, had a business failure, just after our first son was born.
So much promise, so much anticipation, all gone. Lost our house to the bank. So much pain, so many regrets. Then, my husband's Mom passed away unexpectedly. Routine surgery that we thought would better her life, not result in her demise.
And, yes there were times when I just thought I couldn't take it anymore. The smile in my son's face stopped me. The promise of his future sustained me. Words are really inadequate to express such sorrow-- just remember that you are never alone. Always love him -- at that desperate time he felt he was taking the only option available.
Kim, never, ever, think that this was a relection of your love for him -- you did not fail! His love was so great for you that, in his depressed state, he thought he was doing the "right thing." Hang on to your future -- I read "Doug's" message to you and it only restores my faith in the the goodness of humankind. Embrace that love! You are not alone..

With love,
Shelley
