Jason,
My partner died of colon cancer that had spread to the liver over 4 yrs ago. I was brought up Catholic, and also searched for confirmation about an after-life and that Fred was ok after he died. I did alot of reading and in one book it mentioned that you should pray for your loved ones who have died. That night I prayed for Fred. When I was asleep, in my dreams, a deep voice said, Fred thanks you for the prayers. I had a few other dreams where Fred appeared. The most powerful dream was one where I asked him what it was like to not have a body. He told me that he didn't notice it much, and that he was really busy traveling around and that he didn't worry about me because he could see that I was doing okay. At the time, I was bothered that he didn't worry about me, because I did not feel that I was doing ok, but he probably was able to see that I was on the right path to being ok. It is hard to write this publicly, because it might sound flakey, but it is all true. (my degree is in science, and I wanted proof that an after-life existed, but in my journey I came to accept and be content with the notion that it is a mystery)
Take care, Diane
