I have a sweet story to share. My husband died in a plane crash in April 2001. He was the pilot and only passenger of a small aircraft he was test flying for his company. He was a great husband and father. He left me with two of the most wonderful children who are teaching me how to grieve. When he died, I explained that daddy took his last flight up to heaven. Here's the story...My kids and I recently went to dinner at a place that gives out helium balloons after the meal. Both of my children got one and as soon as we got out the door, they didn't say a word, but both let the helium balloons go at the same time. I thought they would cry and want another one, but they both smiled and looked at me and said, "We wanted to send our balloons up to daddy so he can have something to remember us." I can't begin to explain the sweet joy that swept through me by their tender innocent understanding, but they are such a help to me in this time. Hope this story gives you a reason to smile if only for a brief moment. If you have children who miss their parent, get a helium balloon and write a message for them and send it up to your loved one. God Bless
